COVID-19: Srinagar admin launches Talaash App for travellers, students who are yet to report travel history | KNO

Other district admins should follow suit, say netizens

Srinagar, Mar 27 (KNO): In an effort to trace out those students and travelers who have arrived in the valley from outside and have not reported their travel history, district administration Srinagar has launched a website/App where students and travelers can report their travel history. According to wire service-Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the website/App named Talaash was launched by the district administration Srinagar to combat COVID-19. The website/App link was posted by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary on his official Twitter handle, urging public to self report their travel history in order to break the chain to fight COVID-19. "Students and Travellers having travel history of Covid-19 affected countries and other affected areas of the country who have not declared their travel history till date must report their travel history to local health authorities/COVID-19 helpline Numbers or through this Website/App Immediately, " reads the description on the Website/App. It further reads "Family members, neighbours and people in general are appealed to bring such cases in notice of the administration through this Website/App, so that necessary measures in the interest of public health can be taken by the Govt." The initiative by the district administration Srinagar was lauded by the Twitterati, urging other district admins to follow the suit. "Great job done by @listenshahid, this app should be launched in all other Districts, even at Tehsil level if possible, " Rifat Abdullah, a senior journalist from Kashmir, wrote in response to DC Srinagar's tweet—(KNO)
